I make stuff pretty.

*Insert adjective here*est 3 weeks of all time

In the last 3 weeks, so much of my life has changed, it’s hard to describe the feelings it has brought to me.

First off, I finally graduated college. After going to college for 4.5 years, I felt like I was never going to finish. However, I was proud of myself when I finally walked across that stage. I know some people don’t pride themselves on getting a Bachelor’s degree, however, I think it is a big accomplishment that some people don’t have the capability to do. Therefore, I saw it as a big step in my book of growing up.

A week later, I moved to Brooklyn. I flew all by myself (first time!) with 2 bags and a carry-on. That was it. Crazy. I’ve been here for a little over a week now. Things are so much different here than they are back in Illinois. There is SO much more walking! And not just walking, but stairs! And, the subway is one thing. It’s kind of tricky at first, but once you start riding it, you begin to start knowing what train you need. I’m still having trouble knowing which direction the trains are heading over here in Brooklyn, but I think I’ll get it soon. You can also get pretty much all your meals delivered.. And, I’m pretty sure you can even get beer delivered.

On New Years Eve, Amanda and I went to a Bulgarian Bar. They served fresh apple cider with apple chunks cut up in it with vodka for $6/cup as their special. I don’t think it was really apple cider, but it was more clear than it was brown, but still tasty. A live band played, and there were some people that complained behind us but all in all it was fun. At midnight there was a champagne toast and lots of dancing. There was a downstairs to the bar as well, where they have something called the “ice cage”. It’s basically where you pay $10 to open the door, and $20 to put on Soviet Russian garb and you’re allowed to go in the cage and drink as much vodka as you can in 2 minutes. I didn’t do it, but it looked like fun times. Downstairs they played more of the Top 40 Hits that I knew and we stayed down there and danced for a little bit.

New Years Day, I went on my FIRST DATE. WHAT? I know. I’m 22 years old and I went on my first real date. It’s a shame.. I’m so awesome, right? We went to dinner at this Southwestern place, but they were serving brunch all day, so I got an omelet and it was delicious. Then we went ice skating! Another first for me! I spent a lot of my time around the edge holding on to the side so I wouldn’t fall, and he held my hand so I wouldn’t fall either… There were lots of little kids around that were showing me up. Bastards. But it was really fun! I didn’t know ice skating would hurt your feet so much though. I’m just glad I didn’t fall! That would have been embarrassing.

This past weekend, Amanda and I went to IKEA. It was like a MAD HOUSE in there! First off, the walk from the subway station was like torture because we were walking against the wind and it was so far away. But anyway, I got a sweet table and a wardrobe for my clothes for pretty cheap. And Amanda got a huge bag.. so big that I could fit my table in it.

The job hunt isn’t going as well as I thought it would. So far there haven’t been that many job postings since the new year, which is kind of depressing. Hopefully people are just getting into the groove of things and jobs will pick back up soon.

Oh, and I have a second date this Friday :)
